In 2012, the company previously known as MW Cleaning Services was renamed The EcoPro Cleaning Co., New Zealand’s first and only commercial cleaning company to be licensed by Environmental Choice NZ. Essentially, we have been tested and proven to be the cleanest and most environmentally conscious cleaning company in New Zealand. We reckon that’s a pretty significant step in our evolution as a company.
We are on a mission to CREATE HEALTHY ENVIRONMENTS. A healthy office means healthy workers, healthy workers equals increased productivity. No brainer!
Over 40 years ago the Company was founded with a mandate to deliver superior cleaning services focused on caring for, and maintaining, commercial premises. This approach assumed a more holistic perspective of commercial cleaning, than was prevalent at the time.
While many cleaning companies came and went, this original mandate has endured. This is despite constant changes in a highly competitive, and somewhat fickle, industry sector. The company has innovatively evolved its products, processes and services in order to remain relevant to its clients’ needs particularly, as we’ve all become increasingly aware of the environment. Over time, The EcoPro Cleaning Co. has responded to this trend by incorporating eco-principles into its commercial cleaning mix. This recently prompted management to determine just how well the eco message was communicated in its name.
EcoPro (originally MW Cleaning Services) was founded by Doug Mayall and David Wilson in 1974. It remains a 100% family-owned New Zealand business with a well established reputation for reliability and integrity.
While Doug brought many years of experience in the cleaning industry, David applied his skills in selling and management. David and Norma Wilson went on to establish Maunganui Commercial Services Ltd which was founded upon a need to maintain personal contact and quality service to clients. Today, their daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Bob Quaid, run the business with the same high standards and customer engagement.
